DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING AND PROTECTION NOTICE OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION
The public hereby advised that Florida Stone Crabs, Inc. is proposing to carry out a project on the north shore opposite the Dover Sound area, Freeport/Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island. The public is invited to participate in a public consultation meeting to be held on the 11th of November 2025, by the project proponent to hear and discuss matters relating to the proposed project. The consultation meeting will be held starting at 6:00 pm at the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce - #5 South Mall, Drive, Freeport Grand Bahama. A general description of the project is as follows: Florida Stone Crabs, Inc. (“FSCI”S) is a Florida Corporation, which intends to build an onshore facility to farm stone crabs (“Menippe mercenaria”) in Grand Bahama. The facility will be fully integrated and will grow stone crabs from egg to adult at which time both claws will be harvested, blast frozen and exported. The project consists of two phases: a Pilot capable of producing 26 tons and a Commercial phased capable of producing approximately 1000 tons per year at fill production. The general public and interested parties are invited to submit written comments to the Department of Environmental Planning and Protection with respect to the proposed project.
